Now that Bush has won, the zeitgeist is changing once again.
Turkey promises more cooperation in the war on terror:
“In this respect, I would like to underline our determination to further our cooperation in every field, first and foremost in the fight against terror, and to spread peace and our common values in the world and our region,” [President Ahmet Necdet Sezer] added
Faced with “four more years”, European leaders are looking to strenthen ties with Washington by taking a bigger role in Iraq (short of troops, of course):
“The world has many problems, problems that without any doubt can be solved better if the cooperation between the Europeans and the Americans is as close as possible,” said EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana.“I’m sure we will have some frictions during the four years, but I’m sure also we will be able to overcome those frictions with goodwill.”
