		<description>The UN&#039;s actions usually make sense (as is the case here) if you think of them as a trade association for chief executives.  An armed citizenry limits the autonomy of the UN&#039;s members (the aformentioned chief executives), as well as creating a risk of layoffs.  So of COURSE the UN is against it.
Of course, it makes it all the more curious they don&#039;t get along with Bush, since President &quot;I&#039;ll do whatever the hell I like and there&#039;s nothing you can do about it&quot; is pretty much the posterboy for the all-powerful chief executive.
