The Polls You Don’t Hear About
When Bush’s poll numbers recently dipped to his lowest point ever It seemed like every news media covered it on the front page or in the first of the broadcast. Things sure did look dim.
However:
- Gallup finds that Americans want Roberts confirmed by a landslide: 54% for confirmation and a mere 27% against.
- In spite of a media blitz against the White House, nearly twice as many people blame local authorities for the Katrina debacle than President Bush: 25% to 13%. This is in spite of Gallup’s attempt at bias documented by JunkYardBlog.
- PoliPundit discovers that CNN buries that fact that Bush’s numbers are up, which may be a sign that “Bush may have turned a corner.”
Meanwhile, DNC chair Howard Dean is publishing an op-ed in tomorrow’s papers that continues to place the racism card in Katrina and urges the defeat of Roberts.
Keep speechifying, Dean. The Republican Party can use your help.
