Senator Follows AlphaPatriot’s Advice
On 2 September, I suggested four common-sense measures for curing the gas shortage that is driving up prices, the third of which was to create a national standard for gasoline formulation and require every state to honor it.
A Republican senator from North Carolina has introduced legislation to address this very problem:
U.S. Sen. Richard Burr introduced the Affordable and Reliable Gas Act of 2005 Friday. The bill aims to decrease U.S. vulnerability to gasoline price spikes by reducing the number of available special fuel blends on the market, also called boutique fuels.

Next step: abolish the EPA.
