CNet reports:

A Minnesota appeals court has ruled that the presence of encryption software on a computer may be viewed as evidence of criminal intent.

I shred my mail and personal documents. Does that mean I am doing something illegal?

    As long as you’re not shredding other people’s mail, I think you’re in the clear.

    Damn. Now I have to get new software and encrypt EVERYTHING on my home PC.
