Pandering Not Necessary

I really should put up a link policy some time because I occasionally get a reciprocal link request and usually never respond. Not because I’m rude, but because I have so many other things to do that I put it aside meaning to get to it later and it ends up pushed down in the stack until it is lost forever. [Yes, I know the effect is rudeness but it is not intentional. Perhaps that will mitigate the declension of my karma, at least somewhat.]

Every once in a while I take a minute (like anyone who isn’t a self-absorbed, narcissistic bastard would do) to go check out the blog. I don’t do reciprocal links, but will link to anyone whom I think is worth reading and shows potential. The reciprocity is voluntary on their part. I will not whore for links, membership in Blogs for Bush and Wictory Wednesday notwithstanding.

I received a request for a link exchange from the nice people at Let’s Try Freedom and somehow actually made it over there to check ‘em out. Nice start and I especially liked the Why Do We Still Need An Electoral College? series with Part One, Part Two and Part Three, not to mention a rather nice post on media bias.

So I jumped over to my admin site and added it to my blogroll. I then went back to my email to send them a reply and while actually reading the whole email I came across this:

You are, of course, a mighty Blog God and I am an insignificant insect, so obviously you should be falling all over yourself to seal this deal. In case the idea of boosting the blog of an absolute stranger and getting very little in return fails to spur you into action, remember the story of the mouse and the lion with the wounded paw! Or something.

Look Ma! I’m a Blog God! [wipes tear]

If only.

Fascinating, although I like your Nine Questions for the Kerry Voter better. I looked for a news feed for your site but didn’t find one. Drop me a line if you set one up.
