Bush can’t fix the mess in Iraq because he pretends things are fine. Pretending is no substitute for planning.
Funny, but I don’t remember anyone on the president’s staff making mention of the fact that everything is “fine” in Iraq. Planning seems to be going on as well as expected for a country with no tangible government-tangible; perceptible: substantially real-and I’ve got to say that I’m getting a little tired of all these intangible accusations. Son, if you’re gonna go to a gun fight, make sure your pistol’s loaded boy.
