Next on the Chopping Block?

A liberal in California was offended by a Fourth of July concert blared from a mountain top:

She said she has to assume that anyone who flies one of the county’s biggest flags and puts on an impromptu concert of patriotic music is advertising support for President Bush — and she’d rather not have it forced on her.

“Unfortunately, most flag-waving people are supporters of U.S. imperialism, so to speak,” she said. “I wish we could be proud of our country, period. But what our country is doing, I don’t think I’m proud of.”

Is this a portent of the future? Not satisfied with removing all references to God from our public displays, are we now going to see suits brought to remove displays of “overt patriotism” because so many America-haters find them offensive? What will the ACLU Enemy of the State say?

Hat tip to Kerry Haters for the article. ACLU image shamelessly stolen from Right Wing Stuff that has lots of bumper stickers and t-shirts with cool logos at very reasonable prices.
