Almost all the politicians/elected officials have been taking money from criminals, and the county mayor had one on his staff before he had to fire him. Then he hired him back as his personal fund raiser. The lies are just a small part of a bigger problem which is a lack of ethics, or situational ethics. This permeates our society today and is manifesting itself in things like the Tennessee Waltz, Garage Gate and now both the Republican and Democrat candidates for Sheriff saying it is ok to take money from convicts. The voters are the only ones who have the power to stop this "lapse" in ethics. They must choose to elect people who will do the "right" thing - all the time.
