Left “Reclaiming” the Bible
The People for the [Un]American Way held a conference to try and figure out how liberals can evangelize to evangelicals:
Some have said more effort is needed to understand the Christian right. Others, such as the openly homosexual Episcopal Bishop V. Gene Robinson, say liberals “have to take back [the] Scriptures” and articulate their own spirituality.
Funny how the Left thinks that everything was originally theirs and the Right took it away somehow, so now they must “reclaim” it.
After decades of trying to remove everything Christian from our schools, government and judicial system, the Left thinks they need to “take back” the Scriptures? We didn’t take it from them — they threw it away.
Besides, religion isn’t proprietary, it belongs to everyone.
Silly liberals.
No matter how much the left tries, they’ll never get through to the rest of us. They should take a good long look at why the “leftist” church goers (i.e., the National Council of Churches) have seen their ranks and congregations shrink.
