That is good to see some of the “elites” standing up for elementary truths. I hope that more stars will come out boldly instead of caving into the wall of silence. Selah!

  2. Thom Nickels says:

It seems to me that most of the Hollywood bunch who call themselves conservative seem to be the “dumber” stars. Just read the lists of so-called conservative Hollywood celebrities and you’ll get my point. Loretta Lynn? Marie Osmond? Come on! Why not add Lawrence Welk. Pat Boone? Why Mr. Boone is down there with Pat Robertson in terms of religious fanaticism, intolerance, etc.
What is a Holywood conservative anyway? The same as a Salt Lake City conservative? I rather doubt it. Most Hollywood conservatives have gay friends and have a live and let live attitude when it comes to sexual orientation, wheras in the dark hinterlands of extreme conservativism, gays are lucky if they are not lynched.

  3. Jack Tomsky says:

You call Mel Gibson or Arnold Schwarzenegger “dumber stars”?

  4. Kredd says:

    Dumber stars?
You would never say such a thing to Robert Duvall’s face, or Chuck Norris’s for that matter. What are you basing your assumption of stupidity on? Do you really think Kelsey Grammer is dumb? Denzel Washington, dumb? Okay, okay…I’ll give you Pat Boone, but the rest?
Thank God there are a few conservatives in Hollyweird. We could use some more.
    K.

  5. Richard C says:

aren’t Adam Sandler, Heathr Locklear, Shanon Doherty conservatives too?

  6. Kevin Miller says:

Let Me just say,I respect Pat Robertson and Pat Boone.I know religious fanatics and these gentlemen seem pretty well balanced by comparison. And as for a few others like Arnold Scwarzenegger,Kelsey Grammer,LL Cool J or even Mel Gibson, they seem more Moderate than Conservative.I say this because I’ve noticed a few Liberal views on their part. And as for Shannon Doherty-how can anyone who hosts such a disgusting so called “reality show” or any of these so called “reality shows” be a Conservative? These “shows” are as about as liberal as one can get! As for these other Conservative names,It is so refreshing to see that some people in Hollywood make some sense.Although,I do have a Special respect for Mel after His Greatest Directed Movie,”The Passion Of The CHRIST”.HIS Love of GOD and CHRIST is Most Admirable and Deserved not only to be nominated for an academy award but also win for best Actor(Jim Claveizel) and Director(Mel Gibson).

  7. Scott says:

Let’s get some perspective when calling some of the above-mentioned Hollywood Conservatives “dumber” than the norm. James Woods was a political science major at MIT. Ron Silver used to work for the U.S. government (some believe the CIA) because of his superior language skills. Kelsey Grammer, aside from being notoriously well-read and verbose, is a genius on a multitude of subjects and was educated at Julliard. And don’t start with this crap about his substance abuse history. If your father was murdered, your sister was raped and murdered outside of a Colorado Springs Red Lobster, and your brother was eaten by a f*cking shark all in one lifetime, you’d have a drink and do a couple lines, too. And don’t even get me started on Ben Stein.
Bear in mind, I’m a complete moderate. I’ll give you libs the benefit of the doubt when Freddie Prinze, Jr. and Sarah Michelle Gellar are mentioned because, well… that just makes for good ha-has. But I know when I think of good, sound, level-headed political opinions… I DEFINITELY think of Janeane Garafolo… oh, and Tim Robbins… and Sean Penn… and Sheryl Crow… oooh oooh oooh, and Maggie Gyllenhaal… AND MICHAEL MOORE! [End rant]

  8. Brian Sisk says:

Unfortunately, we view party lines like our favorite football team. If there is a call on the field that goes against us, we complain about a bad call. In politics, no matter what call is made, we lean to the left or right and see no middle.
I view every call with an open mind. In doing so, I have found that the left has no substance to offer. The right may not be perfect, but offers a much better game plan for our country’s safety, economy, borders, and healthcare.
So when I took a deep look at who really kicks but in Hollywood, Clint Eastwood, Chuck Norris, ect… , you see a team with fewer players that have a higher moral standard.
So my final analyst, the Right has the stronger team.
And I would rather die on my feet than live on my knees.
    Vote Republican, Vote Strong.

  9. An American says:

I would like to caution some of the respondents that they are sounding like a right wing version of the liberals: intolerant, mean-spirited and holier-than-thou. This makes you no better than they are. The party that claims to be all inclusive and open to all, is utterly closed minded, angry and mean if the discourse vears to anything that they do not believe in. Do not become a mirror image of that.
One final thought, read history! The far left liberals in this country are not democrats, they are raging socialists. Look it up. And while you are at it, remember the hundreds of millions of people who have been put to death over the last ninety years to perpetuate socialism (Or if you prefer, Communism. Though they were anything but commune governments). Scary, huh?

  10. Proud to be a Conservative American says:

Why is it that when liberals do not like something that a conservative says or does, they call him or her “dumb”? Liberals said that Reagan was dumb. They call Bush dumb. Hey, I did not President Clinton very much but I would not call him dumb. When liberals cannot make an intelligent counter argument, they result to name calling. Before 1992, I was a member of the Democratic Party. Law School changed everything for me. I saw how liberal judges “made” law instead of interpreting the law. I saw how personal preferences replaced sound legal principles. What a shame. The so called “tolerant” left is the most intolerant political segment in the country today. The left wants to stamp out of the traditional values which made this country great. And yes, God is a part of what makes this country great!!! God, Family, Country are still the great traditional values to live by. The left just does not get it. I am a Catholic and for the first time in the history of the country, in 2004 more Catholics voted for the Republican nominee (George Bush) than for the Democratic nominee (John Kerry). That party is starting to fall apart. Good ridance. Maybe a new, saner party will emerge. Anyway, I am proud to be a conservative. God Bless America.

  11. Liberal in Los Angeles says:

I suspect the same reason liberals call right wing folks “dumb” is the same reason people on the right seem to constantly infer that those of us on the left are socialist/communist America haters which in my case and the case of my liberal friends is patently untrue. Fundamentally it is intolerance for another perspective which, frankly, seems at odds a bit with the most basic tenants of our constitution which are, in great part, what makes our nation different from others and in many ways truly. Does anyone really thing that intolerance is really going to get us anywhere we want to go?

  12. conservative in France says:

The reason liberals call right wingers “dumb” is because they have been socially conditioned to believe liberal views are “enlightened.” People who don’t accept their views are “stuck in the past,” while they are “progressing” to some sort of new state of humanity. They don’t understand that all of their moral and social values have been attempted in the past; morally by the Roman Empire (which crumbled, a large portion because of their moral codes), and politically by 20th century socialists (the Nazi party wasn’t communist, it was officially called “The New German Socialist Party”, same with other ‘communist’ nations). The “progressive” movement isn’t progressing to anything new, and isn’t any more intelligent or enlightened than anyone else; they just have been taught by others in their social circles to believe so.
So we have a large group of people who have been taught to look down on others for having a different viewpoint. It’s no different than a radical muslim looking down on an infidel, or a hateful evangelical looking down on someone for a different belief system. The criteria that others are judged upon is different, and the rhetoric is different; a muslim calls the ‘other’ an “infidel,” and the liberal calls all others “unenlightened.”
You can’t compare that to a conservative calling far left democrats socialists. Most far left democrats love socialism. I live in France and am surrounded by it. To deny that the far left values socialist social and economic values over traditional social values and free trade/capitalism is just plain ignorant. Being open minded doesn’t mean ignoring the facts. Europeans haven’t learned from their mistakes last century– and look at their reactions to Middle East and Russia/Georgia.
If you’re socially liberal, fine, but that doesn’t necessarily make you a democrat.

  13. k. knucsk says:

Denzel has moved to the other side. He’s voting for our messiah Obama.

  14. Conservative Metlhed says:

Kudos to those who risk careers for their ideals. As a public educator, I feel that the liberal left has infilitrated our schools, universities, and the media. It is my job to present young people with facts, not rhetoric or opinions, and have them draw their own conclusions.
It would be outstanding to someday have a woman or a minority ascend to the presidency, but not Obama. When the far left is delighted with any candidate, it is always cause for concern.

  15. Will Haskew says:

I understand that we all want to feel some kind of bond to Hollywood but come on! Some of the people listed above are not making the number of movies they should be because “We the conservative public” want to know the scoop on their political leanings. I am thrilled by the list and feel a certain kinship to the actors. I am sure they would feel better if in being a conservative in Hollywood they were able to provide for their families with that label.
On another note, why doesn’t Zucker make a decent Presidential movie about Ronald Reagan. It seems when Hollywood makes a movie about a President it is always about a Republican and very biased. Frankly I am glad to see that Bush in W. is no different then the rest of us. At least it looks that way in the preview. I don’t know if Oli Stoned is helping his liberal cause or hurting it. Bush is the man!! Go Michael Malone!
By the way, Jesus Christ is, was and forever shall be the only Messiah.

  16. Adam says:

    Just to clear the air…
Not all conservatives hate gays, minorities, etc, etc!
I happen to be a conservative with many friends from all different walks of life.
The term conservative anymore means a belief in strong family values, a small and fair government, a move towards private charity…rather than govt mishandling, and the belief that the US is the greatest nation with limitless opportunities for everyone, regardless of where you start. We are in no way the hateful segment of a party some describe us to be. It’s offensive…but we also believe you have the right to say whatever you want. Just remember the lives that have sacrificed for your freedom to spew nonsense about the evil conservative movement.
It’s not a terrible idea to educate yourselves beyond what CNN would have you believe.

  17. Brian says:

Liberals are the most hateful people I know. Remember it was the Democrats who started the KKK. They used them to intimidate the blacks from voting because almost all of the blacks were Republicans back then. Now somehow the KKK is synonomous with the Republicans. I’ll bet if more blacks realized it maybe there would be a shift in political affiliation. They think we Christians are stupid and uninformed about everything. Keep putting up you peace signs and having your protest and see where that gets you. A liberal will never protect this country, because they don’t value human life. The more babies that are aborted the happier they are. Remember an appeaser is the person that keeps feeding the alligator hoping it will eat him last.

I don’t seem to remember any Gays being lynched recently in the “dark hinterlands” you mentioned. Can you be a little more melodramatic? Would you like to provide a link or some documentation to the above lynchings?
And, just in case you cite the Matthew Sheppard murder be prepared to defend and explain why looking back, in all probability, this was a drug deal gone bad and not homophobia. Of course that’s not gonna fly too well in the press. The liberal media made its mind up long ago as to what really took place in that case.
Of course by marginalizing and claiming conservatives are haters and anti-gay you play one of the favorite liberal “cards”. If one can get ones opponent labeled a Homophobe, Nazi, Racist, Jack-booted thug (insert favorite liberal cliche here) you can effectively silence them. That is a classic far-left tactic.

  19. Deb says:

I am a conservative libertarian who is trying to get my film made and break into the film business. Today someone on facebook told me that my comments are inappropriate and offensive for someone trying to break into the film industry – by that he meant my comments stating I don’t support Obama on facebook. In other words, I don’t toe the line and keep my mouth shut and play the game.
I’ve felt anger for a long time because I have felt I must stifle my views and pretend to like the most evil president in the history of our country just to get into the film business. This article about conservatives in Hollywood makes me feel SO much better.
And I am not a bigot. I’m a conservative Christian but I try to show love to all people, whether gay or minority or whatever. I am primarily a conservative based on fiscal issues. I don’t want to force everyone to believe like I do,
I just want the freedom to state my views publicly in the film business without persecution. I am not a socialist or a fascist, I love my country, and I hate the manipulation and lies and deceit that Obama is inflicting on this country. I’m for low taxes and small government. I don’t believe in discriminating against other people for any reason.

If you don’t think Chuck Norris is all kinds of
crazy all you have to do is google his name.
He’s right wing fringe. chuck quoting bible verses doesn’t make him smart.
