Good News in NY
In spite of the fact that the majority of New Yorkers didn’t want the convention held in their city, there are two bits of good news:
- Mayor Bloomberg is claiming a $255 million bump in the cities economy.
- Despite the concentration of police in and around Madison Square Garden, there was an overall drop in crime across the city.
I can definitely believe point #2, because even though the cops were concentrated around MSG, you still couldn’t go two blocks without seeing at least four of New York’s finest. They were EVERYWHERE.
