Countdown for Saddam
President Bush made one of his better speeches last night – at least it was a vast improvement over the disastrous news conference last week. He laid out the case fairly clearly and made a jab at the French while doing so. But Tony Blair’s speech to the House of Commons was brilliant (no transcript is available yet). Mr. Blair went down the long litany of lies, deceptions, resolutions, inspection insertions, and inspection withdrawals of the past 12 years.
In other news, the economic nay-sayers who passionately stated that the markets were down because of fundamentals rather than fears of war are now fading in the face of yesterday’s rally, early trading today, and even a rally in European markets on the heels of President Bush’s speech. My friends, we have seen the bottom – it is all up from here.
