Trump Promises to Prosecute H. Clinton

Trump has just stepped it up a notch. In an interview with Sean Hannity, the Donald said that other people have been prosecuted for less, that she is being protected, and that he would have no choice but to prosecute her.

“If I’m the nominee, this is not gonna be a subject that’s gonna die down very easily,” said Trump.

Hopefully, this is one promise he’ll actually keep.

GOP Hubris vs. Populism

From sitting squarely in Middle America, it is inconceivable that GOP elites think they can go back to being Republicrats and continue to be returned to power. They played nice with the Tea Party and now things are back to where they were.

Yet signal after stupid quote from those elected to power show just how out of touch they really are.

The ever-insightful Pat Buchanan knows that Nationalism and Populism are propelling Trump towards the GOP presidential nomination (emphasis added):

If Beltway Republicans think they can stop Trump and turn back the movement behind him, and continue on with today’s policies on trade, immigration and intervention, they will be swept into the same dustbin of history as the Rockefeller Republicans.

America is saying, “Goodbye to all that.”

For Trump is not only a candidate. He is a messenger from Middle America. And the message he is delivering to the establishment is: We want an end to your policies and we want an end to you.

If the elites think they can not only deny Trump the nomination, but turn back this revolution and re-establish themselves in the esteem of the people, they delude themselves.

This is hubris of a high order.

Read it all to see why Liberals aren’t the only ones that don’t seem to be able to learn from history.
