Unscientific Poll

The people at Communist News Network CNN have one of those “web polls” next to a highly skewed story about the gun control debate.

The headline reads “Rival rallies argue gun laws”, indicating that the article is about both pro-gun and anti-gun groups and the debate in which they are engaged. And indeed, the Associated Press gives ink to both rallies: 391 words about a “Halt the Assault” rally dedicated to drumming up support for extending the “assault weapons” ban, and a one-sentence paragraph of 22 words about a rally sponsored by the Second Amendment Sisters.

Simple math shows that the article is 95% anti-gun, which is typical of our liberal media.

Surprisingly, however, pro-gun readers are slightly ahead in the web poll with 52% of the votes in favor of “lifting” the ban (which in reality should read to allow the ban to expire — no action is required on the part of congress to “lift” anything). Only 48% are in favor of extending the ban, with over 306,000 votes cast to date.

Please give it a click to let the muddle-headed, namby-pamby, wrong-thinking, spineless, pampered, anti-freedom, pro-criminal, out-of-touch, elitist liberal bastards at CNN know that this ridiculous law which has not saved a single life nor interfered with a single crime should be allowed to die a quiet death.

While there, please note the irony involved when the “journalist” interviews one of the anti-gun rally attendees whose daughter was tragically murdered by a mental patient using a “9mm semiautomatic handgun with an illegal 30-round clip[emphasis added]. Yeah, the “assault weapons” ban really made a difference in that murder, didn’t it?

Evolution is Expensive

Meet the LW15.499. It looks like an M16 (or civilian cousin AR15) but shoots a .50 cal round:

The LW15.499 is an evolutionary development of the M16 direct gas, rotary bolt rifle combining the proven reliability of this system with a Leitner-Wise purpose designed .50-caliber cartridge and rifle. The result of this collaboration is a lightweight and dependable weapon system that develops overwhelming terminal ballistics. It should be understood however, that the LW15.499 is a complete weapon system in its own right and not a mere conversion of the 5.56 mm gun.

This toy ranges has models that range in price from $1,450 to $2,435, which really isn’t too bad. Of course, there’s always this to consider:

  • LW15.499 Training Round: $18.40
  • LW15.499 Hunting Round: $27.00
  • LW15.499 Training Round, Speer Hollow Point: $16.00
  • And then this little beauty: an LW15.499 Armor Piercing Round — yours for only $98.00LW15_ammo.jpg

I think I would “train” with the Speer Hollow Point hunting round — why spend an extra $2.40 every time I pull the trigger? Never mind, if I could afford to shoot this gun I’m thinking I’m as rich as Bill Gates, or maybe Kerry.
